The University of Miami/Jackson Health System Orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellowship Program is an ACGME-accredited, one-year program located in the heart of Miami. Fellows anchor the sports medicine service at the University of Miami Sports Medicine Institute along with residents from the UM/Jackson Health System Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program.

Our one-year Orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellowship provides a well-rounded sports medicine education so that fellows can choose from a variety of careers, including those in academic, hospital and private practice settings.
We achieve a well-rounded experience by providing the following educational/clinical/research opportunities: education of residents and students; a structured weekly didactic schedule including a weekly sports curriculum conference; weekly case presentations, case review and indications conference and weekly musculoskeletal radiology conference; basic science and clinical research opportunities with dedicated research time; biomechanical studies at the Max Biedermann Institute for Biomechanics; clinical outcomes research at the UM Sports Medicine Institute and motion analysis experiments at the Max Orovitz Laboratory, University of Miami Department of Kinesiology/Sport Sciences.
Through the comprehensive training our fellows receive, they are ensured exposure to:
- High-volume outpatient clinical settings in state-of-the-art facilities
- Level I trauma center
- College and professional athletes through the UM Athletics and the Miami Marlins programs
- Largest concussion management program in South Florida
