Incoming Residents and Fellows

Welcome to University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center.

We are excited to have you join our team, and look forward to meeting you during orientation. You will be a valuable member who impacts our community, and we cannot wait to see all that you will accomplish.

As you embark on your journey with us, please familiarize yourself with the onboarding guidelines.

 

Onboarding and Orientation

The Housestaff Office and your program coordinator will guide you through the onboarding process. Onboarding checklists are assigned electronically to incoming residents and fellows through New Innovations. Please contact your program coordinator if you did not receive an email from New Innovations.

Before you can begin your training program, the following requirements have to be met:

  • Completion of satisfactory reference check.
  • Completion of background check.
  • Completion of employee physical, alcohol/drug testing, and clearance from Jackson’s Employee Health Office.
  • Provide proof of a medical/osteopathic/dental/podiatric doctorate degree.
  • Provide proof of completion of prerequisite program requirements.
  • Provide proper immigration status/work visas/permits, if applicable.
  • Obtain proper licensing by the State of Florida.
  • Provide valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification completed at Jackson Memorial Hospital only.
  • Physically report for duty at Jackson Memorial Hospital on your start date.
  • Completion of all Jackson Health System education and employment requirements.

Jackson Health System welcome packet is assigned in New Innovations.

Jackson Health System’s welcome packet is an interactive to-do list designed to facilitate the onboarding process for incoming Jackson residents and fellows. It includes a series of required steps and information to ensure a smooth onboarding experience.

April

Jackson Health System welcome packet is due in New Innovations.

All assigned steps must be marked complete to obtain clearance and receive your new employee packet, which includes instructions for obtaining your ID badge, parking, meal card, lab coats, and scrubs, setting up your email and Windows login, accessing the housestaff lounge, information on your first paycheck, and guidance on enrolling in direct deposit.
